still life

Being surrounded by gardens, I’m constantly struck by the diversity of shapes, textures, and colors produced by Mother Nature. Since diving into painting, I’ve slowly moved into the genre of still life, using it as a vehicle to explore abstraction, bold color, botanicals, and the thrill of discovery.

The process is playful and ever-evolving—adding, subtracting, experimenting, and learning. At its core, it is an ongoing practice of letting go and embracing the unexpected.

Petals and Pitchers Series

After applying layers of shape, texture and vibrant paint color the vessels and bouquets and an occasional bird finally reveal themselves.
